Katipo is not just a gin.
It’s a way of life.
What started out as a great idea has finally come to fruition. Katipo’s story begins on the shores of Whirinaki Beach where many ideas were thrown out around the campfire and great plans were hatched.
One night in particular, while sitting around the campfire, our native spider was spotted crawling beside a glass of “homebrew” gin. This gin was not just any run of the mill gin, it had a “secret” herb. Yes, there was a handful of hops in that particular brew and so Katipo Aotearoa Gin was born.

A classic Kiwi take on a traditional London Dry, we took our love for tradition and added a bit of Kiwi No 8 Wired innovation with the introduction of Nelson Sauvin hops to the bouquet. The result is mouth-watering, leaving you wanting more. It finishes with a complex nose that harmonises all of the best aromas the New Zealand gin, beer and wine industries have on offer.
